Why we’re creating this
In the summer of 2015, Rilla and I hosted a gathering on a ranch in the mountains of North Georgia called A Retreat to Advance: Music, Art & Love.
What unfolded that weekend was difficult to describe, yet impossible to forget.
Thoughtful humans gathered around music, conversation, shared meals, nature, and meaningful moments of reflection. More than a decade later, many of us still talk about the experience and the unexpected ways it shaped our lives.
This summer, we’re creating something new in the Pacific Northwest.
The Space Between isn’t a conference, networking event, or traditional retreat. It’s a thoughtfully curated day designed to help us slow down, reconnect, engage more intentionally with life, and share meaningful experiences with other thoughtful people.

The Space Between
-
Modern life has a way of filling every available space.
Noise. Notifications. Responsibilities. Endless input. Constant motion.
And yet many of us quietly sense that some of the richest parts of life are found elsewhere. In meaningful conversation. In beauty. In music. In laughter. In stillness. In shared meals. In moments where time seems to slow down long enough for us to actually notice our lives while we’re living them.
The Space Between was created as an intentional pause from the pace and noise of everyday life. A chance to gather with thoughtful humans in a beautiful setting and reconnect with presence, perspective, creativity, curiosity, and what matters most.
You’re not here to perform. There’s no pressure to become someone else. No expectation beyond showing up fully for the experience.
Just a thoughtfully curated day designed to create room for reflection, connection, inspiration, and the kind of moments that stay with us long after they happen.
Think of this as a retreat to advance.
